Digital Assets Association Hosts Fintech Roundtable with US Congressional Delegation

Singapore, April 24, 2024 – The Digital Assets Association hosted a fintech roundtable with a bipartisan US Congressional delegation (CODEL) led by Chair of the House Financial Services Committee (HFSC) Rep. Patrick McHenry on April 24th, 2024. CODEL members included Representatives Bryan Steil, Erin Houchin, Scott Fitzgerald, Mike Flood, Wiley Nickel, and Ritchie Torres.

The discussions delved into Singapore’s innovative fintech ecosystem and its regulatory approach to digital assets. Topics covered included regulatory sandboxes, stablecoins, and strategies for balancing innovation with responsible oversight.

“This roundtable provided a valuable platform for exchange between US policymakers and key Singapore industry players,” said Chia Hock Lai, Co-chairman, Digital Assets Association. “As the digital finance landscape evolves, international collaboration is crucial for building a secure and thriving future for the sector.

The CODEL is visiting Singapore from April 24th – 26th, 2024. Their itinerary also included meetings with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong.
